Wouldn'T Stay Here Again. . .

We stayed only one night at this motel - it was not good. Towels were like sandpaper, room smelled, noisy location, one room air-conditioner to cool two rooms, and the breakfast was horrible! They advertise a free continental breakfast. . We didn't expect much - maybe bagels or muffins or cereal bars, but all they offered were things like twinkies. Other than that, it was great. Checked out of here and went to north wildwood right on the beach- less money, great hosts, and a much better atmosphere. We have probably been to wildwood 15-20 times, so we know none of the motels are first class, but the isle of palms was a real disappointment.

Horrible......

I have been going to wildwood for about 7 years or more now. And this year we stayed at isle of palms. I rented an efficiency. Online it looked like a nice place for a reasonable price for july. When me and my kids (5, 4, and 2 yrs old) and my cousin arrived in our room, i was disgusted! The carpets were so dirty, my kids socks were so black on the bottom (and i had put clean socks on them after there bath before bed). The kitchen space was so small, and the pots and pans needed to be replaced. The cups were all dirty inside. There was no drainer in the kitchen for the dishes. There was only one air conditioner and it was in the living room almost on the floor in the wall. And the table was blocking it. When it was time to sleep, we were sweating in the bedroom, but we would freeze walking into the living room where the ac was. The walls and ceilings were obviously very thin, because we could hear every noise in and out of the hotel. Oh and there was a sofa bed in the living room that my cousin slept on that the mattress pretty much sank to the floor. I had to ask 3 times for an extra blanket for my cousin. Also, all the sheets were stained! Some of the inside of the drawers were broken. The handles came off when i tried to open it. There was paint chips on the floor in the living room from the wall. I was in the eff everday the maid would come to clean, and all they did was make the beds and throw away the garbages. They never vacuumed or cleaned. If it hadn't been july, a very busy month, we would have asked for our money back the first day and went to another hotel. But i knew everywhere else was booked up. I will never go there again, not worth my time nor my money.

My friends and I stayed there after prom for memorial day weekend...if you're a family do not stay here that weekend...it was basically drunken, noisy college kids on the balcony every nite...if you're a high school kid looking for an amazing time....go here! This was literally the best weekend of my life...were already making plans to go back same time next year.

Nice Family Vacation At The Isle of Palms

We (husband, kids 7, 5 & 1, and myself) just got back yesterday. Listen, no one should expect a luxury hotel in wildwood and compared to other hotels in wildwood, the isle of palms would be considered luxurious. I agree that the towels are not the softest but they were clean and were changed morning and evening. The pool was fantastic as was the jacuzzi. People were constantly cleaning the pool, jacuzzi, balconies, barbecues... (although the employees were not big on smiling). Yes, the carpet was a little dirty, but unless they change the carpeting every week, it is difficult to keep carpeting clean at a beach hotel with people coming back from the beach everyday and dripping on the carpet. Breakfast was very sweet so i preferred to prepare our own breakfasts, but the coffee was very good. Lots of places do not offer breakfast at all. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the kids loved it but we make do and enjoy ourselves with what we have; while other people may take more pleasure in complaining about everything.

Keep Going Back

The first time I stayed at this hotel I was very happy with our accomadations. Yes towels were a bit rough but thats why I bring beach towels with me. Most of the hotels in wildwood have rough towels and most much rougher than the ones at the isle of palms. I have been going to wildwood every year since I was a kid and this has to be my favorite hotel. I've stayed here 2 years in a row and will be staying here again in july of 2006. There are alot of families at this hotel and we met alot of very nice people (that we are planning our vacation to the isle of palms with next year), our kids (age 3 mos., 3, 11, & 14) always had someone to hang out with wether it was at the game room or at the pool or just on the balcony outside of our room. This is the one and only hotel in wildwood that I can honestly say I will come back too.
