Lack of Service and Courtesy

The owner/manager definitely needs to brush up on people skills. This man was rude beyond belief right from the get go, talking down to the motel guests. My family and i and several other families booked our stay at the palm beach last week. It was a nightmare the minute we arrived, the rates were not as we discussed when we made our reservations, after we finally settled on the rate, we checked in to our room. The refrigerator had rust all over it, the carpet had stains that looked like they have been there for years, the bedspreads were filthy and to add insult to injury there was used tissue in between the bedsheets. The laundry room was out of order, when we asked if and when it would be repaired, their response was that it has been out of order since last summer. When we expressed our dissapointement, we were told by the manager/owner that there was a laundramat up the road and if we didn't like it, well just too bad. The barbeque grills were old and filthy and didn't work half the time. The pool water temperature must have been at least 100 degrees, it was more like a hot tub. We tried looking for other accomadations in the area but they were all booked, meanwhile the palm beach was at 50% vacancy. I wonder why?. These are the same owners as the grand hotel and singapore hotel also in wildwood crest. Looks like the owners are just plain tired of the hotel business and are letting these properties go to the dumps. If vacationing in wildwood, whatever you do, look elsewhere.

Basic, Clean Hotel

The palm beach is a basic wildwood crest hotel. It is a 4 story building with a shared balcony and signature pink doors. The pool is large and deep with a diving board, but the water is so hot you'd think it was a hot tub! There is a separate area for the kiddies. The rooms are clean and spacious. We had a fridge, microwave, and counter with room to do some meal prep. The staff did a fine job keeping the place clean. Like most rooms at the shore, the air conditioner rattled in the bedroom and was supposed to cool the entire space, but it really didn't do that and it didn't de-humidify, so we were cold and clammy in the bedroom and cool in the front tv room. The hotel is one block from the beach with a grassy lawn between the hotel and the beach. The hotel also had mini-golf, a basketball hoop, and a mini beach resort for tots in the front. We dealt with ladies who were efficient in their dealings. Fortunately, they were courteous. Compared to other hotels in wildwood crest, the price is right for the size of the room and the pool. I'd stay here
