Stay Somewhere Else

Upon arrival, I was given the third degree about every member of my party. I found the staff not to be helpful and petty. Even providing a bandaid for an injured guest was a big deal. The pool is very small and not very maintained (paint chipping, etc.). The room is not very comfortable. Mattresses are soft and we work-up each morning with bad backs. Towels and bedding is thread bare. There is a single air conditioner in the bedroom and no ventilation in the living room. This means you need to crank-up the a/c in the bedroom in order to cool the living room. This makes for an uncomfortable night's sleep. Wildwood is a great place to stay but skip the lotus inn and you'll enjoy your vacation.

Good Location But Somewhat Run-Down and Staff Not Accommodating

My wife, two teenage children (girl and boy) and I stayed at the lotus inn for 4 nights. At check-in the desk clerk (and owner), never having met us, gave my kids the once-over then proceeded to read us the riot act. The elevator was very slow and dirty (wear shoes at all times!) We were told we had a “premium” suite but the carpet was stained, there was mildew around the air conditioner and light bulbs were burned out. The sheets and towels were thread bare and only 2 bath towels in the room. When we informed the owner of the problems she became defensive and did not repair any of the problems while we were there (they didn't even have any extra light bulbs). We even had to exchange the dirty towels at the desk to receive two more clean ones. I love the crest and the hotel is in a great location but the stay was mediocre at best.

Good Experience At The Lotus Inn

There were a total of 3 children and 3 adults on our trip to nj this year and the lotus inn town house fit our needs beautifully. We were looking for a large room with plenty of space, which we found at the lotus inn. The owners were extremely kind and accommodating. All of the staff there (cleaning crew and breakfast crew included) were extremely nice and friendly. Our room was spotless and spacious with a decent view of the ocean (the rates were a bit high - over $300 per night - for not being directly on top of the beach, but if you can afford it, it's worth the money). We left my nephew's stuffed animal there so i called about it when i got home, at which time the owner most graciously put it in the mail right away to get it back to us....oh, there was a cute note attached to the stuffed animal when we got it back, which said "i decided to stay at the beach on vacation a little while longer, but i am so glad i am back home with you now".....how sweet!! The continental breakfast was a plus and so was the game room. Very little to complain about: the elevator is slow, small and hot; and there is definitely no smoking allowed anywhere in or around the hotel - they're real sticklers about it! Parking is tight, but it seems to be that way at all of the hotels/motels there. The pool closed very early (6:00 pm). We had a pleasant experience at the lotus inn and would recommend it for families who are used to abiding by the rules. This hotel is not for people who want to make noise or stay up all night, this is a family type hotel that doesn't put up with loud noise, partying or rambunctious people.

Give Loree Some Slack

With all of the hotels in wildwood being bought out, this is not a bad choice. The owner is a bit firm, but she wants to maintain a nice place. In season you get a great free breakfast. Is it 5 star, no...but this place is in a great location directly on the bike path. You have a view from the ocean from most rooms. It is clean, & I found the beds decent. The rooms are large with a big eating area. One complaint is that the ac in teh bedroom is a problem. The living area does not cool. Give the lotus a shot, it's a good place to hang your hat in the wildwood's.

Loved Our Stay

We just came back home from a wonderful stay with friends at the lotis inn. The rooms were clean and everything was in working order. The management was wonderful and friendly. We spent a week at the lotis and my wife, myself and our friends who shared rooms next to us are looking forward to our next vacation stay at the lotis. We were on the package plan and the restaurants that were in the plan were excellent. There were many to choose from and as I previously stated they were all excellent choices.
