I arrived at the Granada on 8/19 with 2 other families, it took over an hour just to get a parking spot, they let people stay after they check out and they keep their cars in the lot. The counter person said she was so overwhelmed that she didn't have the time to find out who was illegally parked, I was ready to leave right then. All of us were very disapponted in the condition of the motel, we all had ocean front rooms. Like one other review stated they are building condos next store which must be owned by the Granada being that all the information on them were in one of the draws so I don't think they care too much about this place. The Granada was recommended from someone that had stood there around 6 yrs ago and things must have changed alot for the worse. The bathrooms were very small, shower was horrible, hairdryer didn't work one burner on the stove didn't work, one room had a small frige that worked terrible. They ran out of ice almost daily. I could go on and on. The rooms really need a good cleaning. For the price we paid there is a lot better for not much more money.

I am a fan of wildwood crest and all of the memories it brings to families who have traveled there for years and years. 42 yrs. Straight and counting. Stayed at the granada for the 1st time with a late booking for a week during "high time" in the summer season. Paid for an "oceanfront room" around $230 a night. I have stayed at over 35 hotels/motels over the years and rarely complain. The crest is undergoing a transformation from old motels to luxury condos. I believe that the granada is not far behind selling the motel then destroying it for the lure of the "dollar" and the chance to get out of remodeling an old and beaten place. The rooms are usually musty and this was no difference. The ac, which was necessary all the time due to extreme heat, did not even fit in the prefabricated compartment. While it worked, the rust was falling from the exterior onto the carpet on the deck. Condensation built daily in front of the room and soaked the carpet. Very very unsanitary. The room was cleaned but not thoroughly. Not worth the $230 a night!!! The staff was personable, friendly and helpful but simply could not control the hands of time. I will bet that the granada will sell out and crumble like many of the motels in the crest and quite frankly this dedicated vacationer will not mind. It is not even average. But, if you are like me, the beach is wonderfully clean and the lure of the "crest" will never detract me from finding another place. My suggestions? Saratoga, lotus, port royal, coliseum to name a few. The granada will not be there next year but if by chance they are, i would not stay there again. The health department shold know about this place!!!!

My husband and my teenage children stayed at the granada 6-9-2006 through 6-12-2006 for a weekend beach get-away. We arrived in wildwood (from pa) early (10:30 am) with plans to lay on the beach until check in at 3 pm. My daughter took a chance and called the hotel at 11:00 am to see if we could get in our room as the beach was quite cool and windy that day. Much to our surprise, the room was ready and waiting and thus our vacation began. The room was meticulously clean, did not in any way smell musty, and was decorated in a pleasant beachy decor. We had a 2 room suite, with a decent sized fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Both tv's worked well and got great reception. There is an empty lot north of the hotel offering un-obstructed views of the beach. The pool was heated to a pleasant temperature and there is a lovely hot tub and kiddie pool that are beach front. A nice sundeck with palms and tropical plants was right outside our door. There is a coin laundry that we used several times and never had a problem waiting for. The ice machine is huge with a scoop for as much ice as you need for your drinks or small cooler at no charge. Although the pool and hot tub "technicaly" close at 7, the staff was gracious and allowed the guests to relax and enjoy them after 7 within reason. Parking was ample and not at all an issue. Maid service was just as is should be. The lovely wooden walkway to the beach took the drudgery out of hiking through the sand on the crests wide beach. What a fantastic little find this hotel is. The price was one of the least expensive i found in all the wildwoods. I thank the granada and would be happy to answer any questions about the motel. Please email me at vickiwolf@hotmail.com. My daughter has already asked that we stay there again and she is the queen of picky! I have stayed at over 20 different hotels in wildwood in the last 20 years and this one is a great choice.
