We Stayed There Last Year, It Was A Good Hotel for The Money, But There Is No Pool and No Parking, But Close To The Beach and Boardwalk and A Nice Hotel

My whole family rented three rooms, we enjoyed it but there is no pool and no parking, if you can put up with that it is ok, there was also nowhere to wash your feet when you come off the beach.

The Only Place We Ever Stay

Visitor Review
We only ever stay here. It's great for us. I travel with my two young children, so we get one room. We make sure we can overlook that insane bungee ride. This hotel is one block from the boardwalk and the beach, and two blocks from the amusement pier (rides, etc.) It's a great historic hotel, and the most important thing is there's a kitchenette. Breakfast and dinner in the room. Cheap and easy!!! Also note -- giuseppe's on the boardwalk is a great place to eat. Kid-friendly, and I think the kid's plate of pasta is under $2!!! Staff is really nice. Drawback -- parking. Used to be free at the lot next door. Now it's $15-$25 per day, depending on season and lot use (when it starts to fill up they increase the price). So factor that in to the price. Stay on floor 4 or above, ask for ocean/boardwalk view. Ocean city is wonderful. It's by far the best beach town for kids. Have fun!!!

Total Dump

This place is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The bathroom sink was dirty and still had toothpaste crud in it from the previous guests (not to mention the fact that the bathroom looked like it was about 50 years old), the room was dirty, the refrigerator didn't work, the towels were so cheap that they left white fuzz all over your body after using them, the mattress sagged, and the lobby was depressing. About the only good thing was that it's a block from the boardwalk but so are a lot of other hotels that are probably a lot nicer that this dive.

Terrible Hotel

- Toilet and bath tub were not cleaned. - No phone (not even internal) and not advised about it. - I was informed a rate at check in, but then charged a "difference" for weekend day. - $20 parking in the back of the hotel. - The "ocean view" requires great imagination to make up for the 90% view of the amusement park by the hotel. - Customer assistance was very poor and information provided, misleading.L148 Too many problems for the actual $190 that I paid for the night. Actually, too many problems for much less than that....

Picture opening a corrugated cardboard door into a 6' x 6' room. The walls are made of rice paper, and the bathroom makes you yearn for one on a 747. But the location is fantastic.

Hotel Renovated This Year and Much Improved
By Anonymous on Wednesday, June 14, 2006

Visitor Review
If you've stayed here before, you should give it a second chance. The hotel was converted to individually owned condo rooms in 2005 and most owners renovated and redecorated the rooms and it's really much better than before. I understand that this is a transition year for them, so I imagine they're still working out the kinks and it will only improve. My room had a new mattress and some of the bathroom was renovated, but the whole room was newly and nicely decorated, cheery and clean. Considering that the rates at this place are usually much less than the others and that you're only 1/2 block to the beach, and not in your room much, it's really a good bargain. Also, I noticed that they're one of the few places where you can usually walk in the same day and get a room. For an affordable vacation, i'd try it here. I happened to take a picture of the room and attached it so I hope this helps.
