Most Disgusting Motel

I stood at the thunderbird a couple of times, the last time about five years ago. My husband had never been to wildwood so i booked the thunderbird inn for labor day weekend. Alittle pricey at $140.00 a night but i figured it would still be decent. When we walked into our room it was so dirty looking. Mismatched furniture, dirty bathtub, stained bedspread, ripped curtains. We were starving and had just driven 4 hours in traffic so we put our bags in the room and went to get something to eat. When we got back to the hotel room we already wanted to check out but it was 11:30pm & we knew it would be difficult to find another hotel at that hour. To make matters worse, my husband went to lock the door before we tried to sleep and there wasn't a lock on the inside of the door. It was a cheap wooden door with no lock. To make matters even worse than that, we were awoken every hour in the middle of the night while all of these drunk people were screaming & jumping in the pool until 6am. We made it through the night but checked out first thing in the morning. We were lucky enough to get our money back & also lucky enough to get a room at the starlux.

Classic Motel

The thunderbird inn is a classic motel, restaurant and bar. For those that want to get away and enjoy the atmoshpere of a classic 60's heyday motel, this is the place. This is one of the last nicest private internal court motels along the wildwood strip. Open year round, the thunderbird has weekend pakages that are great for the adult party crowd, especially now during the off season. Check out their themed getaway packages on their website. We found the food to be good and the bar and atmosphere excellent. The rooms are typical old school motel, which is the best thing about the thunderbird, its a unique survivor in an ever incresing non descript world. Enjoy it while you still can.
