This is a very nice, if somewhat older hotel. The location is great and there's a very nice indoor pool with a beach view.

"wrong room"

We had booked a Ocean View suite room which was an upgade offered by Hotels.com. When we got to the room it was not a Ocean view. When we asked for the view we were told we could have one but only in a standard room not a suite. The Casino was smaller then the others in the area but for the price the Plaza could not be beat.

"Good for money but declining fast"
By Beverly & Jos of New York on Tuesday, December 08, 2009

My husband and I have been going to Trump Plaza for ten years now. The four elevators in the East Tower are all dirty and at times smell like urine. The walls of the elevator are all scratched up because the porters and maintenance people are moving equipment on the elevators that should be transported on the service elevators. The casino staff and the 24hrCafe restaurant staff was outstanding.

"Needs improvement but not to much"
By Andrea of Aberdeen on Tuesday, December 08, 2009

We checked in and got to out room. The decor was nice and inviting until we realized we were in a room that we didn't reserve. We reserved an ocean view but could not see the ocean. I called the front desk and they informed me that they were all out of ocean view rooms. I began to ask why would you let someone reserve something you did not have. I was told that we could switch rooms the next day! Let's just say we ended up in that same room for the weekend! I loved Atlantic city but next time I will be staying somewhere else. The bathroom was a little ragedy looking also.

"Great deal, divine spa"
By Dubravka of Philadelphia on Monday, December 07, 2009

Visitor Review
Our stay at the Trump Plaza definitely exceeded our expectations based on the price tag and other people's reviews. The hotel was comfortable, the staff friendly, and it was very easy to get anywhere in Atlantic City from the hotel location. In addition, the $15 entrance fee to the spa was the best investment we ever made - we enjoyed a wonderful atmosphere, a jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam room, a fitness center, and a gorgeous pool twice that day! Would definitely stay at the Trump Plaza again next time I'm in Atlantic City.

From the time I arrived everything was great...! The check in clerk was warm, frieldly and accomadating. The staff were all friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and wished you a pleasant stay. The room was clean and beautiful, and the casino was fresh and fantastic. I'd rate the Trump Towers 100% on this one. Can't wait to go back, and wouldn't stay anywhere else but at the Trump Plaza Hotel! The Trump Plaza has high standards, and exceeded my expectations!

Very dirty room. Stained curtains, bedspread and carpet. Public bathrooms within the hotel where dirty and unkept. The front desk staff upon arrival where very unfriendly. My room was not ready at the 3pm check in time until 4:30pm. They told me that Hotels.com should have known that. This was my first stay at a trump property and most certainly my last.

An Outdated Mess

The hotel has plaster everywhere! The rooms are sooo outdated! The bathrooms are from the 70's, it's not worth more than $ 79- $99 bucks! The casino is very smokey and the pay offs are horrible. Try another place! By the way the rate was $188, with coupons that are not really worth anything.

Great Time At Trump Plaza
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Stayed at trump plaza in march 2006 with my boyfriend. We booked a two night room package on their website which included $40 food voucher, $20 slot voucher, 2 free cocktails, free use of the health spa and a few other discounts - really well worth it for the price offered. The best part was we were also upgraded to a mini suite with this. The room was absolutly gorgeous and definatly of a five star level. The casino was nice - the only other casino i've been to was caesars - which is nicer. I liked it though and we won often. Ate at the buffet - breakfast was real good - dinner not bad for the price offered. Also visited the health spa with our free passes. Two separate spas for men and women - went to the heated pool first which was really nice and then each went into the spa for some relaxation in the jacuzzi. Really nice facilities. Overall I would definatly recommend staying at this hotel.

Nice Updates

I just like to say we stayed at trump plaza this weekend and I loved the improvements they have done in the hotel rooms.. New carpeting, new furniture wall paper, etc.... Really" beautiful rooms.. " I felt for over a year the plaza was going down hill fast, but with all that has changed in the last 3 months or so, make it all better again, and the plaza can and will be one of the best places to stay while in the city. The only thing I feel needs to be addressed is that the new pillow top mattresses are way too soft, especially for anyone who needs a more firm sleeping surface, my back was killing me for the 2 days were there, and I didnt sleep a wink . Any one with a back problem be aware of this and try to make a special request if you can, for a firm mattress.... Also I think the broadway buffet is now all smoke free. I noticed alot of new wait staff faces there, some were not that good at their jobs just yet. So service wasnt that great. All in all it was quite refreshing to see all the new surroundings..

Place Has Changed for The Worst
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
I have been going to trump plaza since august 1997. I have not seen any improvements in there rooms. The rooms are not what you would expect from a 5 star hotel,or a donald trump property..room service is terrible and takes much too long. The casino is changing around slot machines too much. I have been able to get rooms easy since I go about 12 times a year on the average, however I am looking for a new place because the rooms are not what they use to be and also the slots are extremely tight. Thanks.

Your Fired Mr. Trump

My husband and I stayed there for a little getaway and were given a high floor room which we requested and did have a nice view. Although, we asked for a non smoking room and the sheets reaked of smoke. There was no fan in the bathroom adn no light in the shower, so when you take a shower you are in the dark because the bathroom light is not very bright. The casino was just ok. We did appreciate the non smoking sections of the casino, although on our last day there, teh computer were down and would not accept the tickets you put in them, so that was an inconvenience. The two disturbing things that we had happen to us was a. When you walk into the trump plaza from the self parking garage, watch out because they have these employees from fairfield resort just waiting for you. They say come get some free gifts (they want to sell you timeshares, beware!) We listened to what they had to say for about 5 min, then said no, but they just kept harrassing us, we just walked away, every time we walked by them, they harrassed us to sign up with them. One day we walked by them like three times within 1/2 hour and I thought i was going to get jumped they were so rude!.

This Place Is The Best

My husband and I started staying at trump's plaza hotel and casino almost 25 years ago. We tried other places, and they are all nice, but this is our favorite and we keep coming back. The rooms are beautiful, the casino is great, they always come thru with rooms for us, and they have wonderful restaurants. The employees are polite and helpful, and never have we had a bad experience there.

The Most Disgusting Place On Earth
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
I just returned from a brief stay at the trump plaza hotel & casino in atlantic city, nj. I was highly disappointed with the accomodations at the hotel, although the customer service from the staff was not bad at all. My room was switched twice due to unacceptable conditions. The first room came with an univited guest...a dead cockroach plastered to the armoire!, in addition, the bathtub was so filthy, it reminded me of a college dormatory shower. I was quickly moved to another room (an upgraded mini suite) which was even worse than the roach motel I had from the beginning. The mini suite was also dirty with urine on the toilet and floor and disgusting stains of the naughty kind on the chaise lounge and bedspread. I can only imagine how those stains got there!

Sorry for The Inconvenience
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
My husband and I stayed 3 days at trump. There was a letter in the room stating stating that this was a 5-star property. It may have been a long time ago, but not now. The room was old and worn and in much need of a facelift. Alot of the facilities---restaurants, restrooms, etc. All had signs stating they were closed "sorry for the inconvenience". They are working on new restaurants, but in the meantime, there were not any good restaurants open, (only open on weekends). Our only real choice were buffets or 1 other 24 hour restaurant, which we went to once and our food was brought to us cold. The indoor pool was ok, however, it was freezing cold when we got out of the pool. No showers or changing rooms, unless you pay $15 for use of the facilities. Went to the spa 1 day ($15 per person) it was closed early for maintenace "sorry for the inconvenience". We are returning to atlantic city in a couple of weeks, will never stay at trump again. When we chose trump, we thought we were choosing the best, boy were we wrong.

Nice Rooms, Lousy Casino
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
I was pleased with the quality and comfort of the room we had at trump plaza. It's not 5-star, but it's nicely decorated, clean, and had a nice view of the ocean. The evo restaurant was good, the buffet pretty bad. I was most disappointed at the casino. This was my first time stay in atlantic city and I toured all of them up and down the boardwalk, and must say that the trump plaza's was the smallest, grungiest, and had by far the fewest interesting and fun games. Go to showboat, resorts and bally's for better slot play. Fortunately trump is a few steps away from caesar's and bally's wild west so I could walk it late at night without having to go too far.

Don'T Waste Your Time

I was attempting to decide whether to stay at the trump or the tropicana. When it came down to booking, the trop was $80 more so I figured it would be easiest to stay in the middle of the boardwalk at the trump. I should have spent the extra $80. I am 26 and want to have fun on vacation. The average age in the casino area was at least 80 years old at the trump. The drink service was horrible at the casino and the casino itself was boring. No nice bars on the casino floor or really nothing to do at the trump. I spent my entire time at the tropicana where the nightlife and casino are awesome. The hotel room was a mixture of victorian and ugly. I attached a couple of pictures. The alarm clock looked like it came from my grandmothers house when I was 10. It had to have been at least 20 years old. The bathroom tiles were cracking especially in the shower. The grout was black in the shower and the shower head was made for a 5'03 person not a 6'03 person like myself. It was horrible.

New Look, Service Needs An Upgrade
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

Visitor Review
This visit was a quick one night tstay-upon arriving to check in later in the afternoon I was surprised to see only one desk person with quite a few people in line. The rooms are a classic style which its nice besides the bathrooms-i can't understand why if trump is spending all this money to fix the hotel and leave the guest bathrooms looking like they did when the plaza first opened. When arriving back at the room after going to a show at another casino the hallway was a mess (room sevice leftovers) all down the entire floor. This mess was there for many, many hours and finally it got cleaned up the next day. Trump plaza is nice but dont expect 5-star it definately is not that nice. The trump plaza has the potential to be a very nice place but they need to clean and maintain it much better, it may look a little better than it has in the past but without good service and mantinance its new luster will fade quickly.

Quite An Interesting Stay

We booked this a few months in advance since we were in town for a concert. When we checked-in, the attendent was very friendly. She politely informed us that there were no ocean front rooms left so we asked for a room in the tower where the pool was. She said no problem.we got to our room and it was very clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable. We decided to go to the pool only to find out we were in the wrong tower and that it was on the other side of the building. We decided not to go.we got a bite to eat and took a walk on the boardwalk. We returned to our room to find a large and loud floor dryer in our room and the rug by the main door and bathroom soaked with water. It wasn't like that when we checked in!

Looking Great!!!
By Anonymous on Thursday, June 15, 2006

I have been going to the plaza for alot of years. Everyone is especially nice. I love the new look the casino is taking on, very beautiful, and fresh. There for a while it was beginning to look very dated, but now..all I can say is wow. The rooms have somewhat a new look, which is nice, however, even though the mattresses are brand new, for me, the pillow top mattresser are just too soft, so naturally I dont sleep well at all. For now the new yorker is closed for renovations... I hope they re-open soon, we did miss having our breakfast there. The broadway buffet, was serving a nice breakfast buffet, but it wasnt the same as the new yorker. I love it there and I would recommend it to anyone, very down to earthand friendly. Thank you.
