This place is a hell hole. They dont offer a safe environment, I had my room broken into, they stole everything, the staff are clueless and it appears it is an affordable hangout for rift-raft and drug addicts. It's a slum. Nothing works, except the water. They keys and locks are not changed often, so someone must have made a copy, then left and waited for someone to check in so they could rip them off.the food at the cafe is good though.

Pure crap" is an understatment! Not only was our room broken in to, a hotel employee actually locked our room, when our group was out!! Upon the retun of 1 female in the group of 4, she found the door dead-bolted, and the man at the desk refused to open the door. Finally, after arguing, he gave her the key. As she sat alone in the room, late at night, he came back up to the room, and let himself in, sat down at the table, and did not leave. He asked her to come into the office, which she did, and he proceeded to check his aol mail... Later that night, when the rest of us came back from the casino, he came back again, after 3am, and stood over the girls who were whispering out on the balcony. Long story short, do not leave your women of children alone here... They may not make it out....

I can't put into words how bad this place is!!! Filthy, scary....it's just bad. Drive to absecon if you need a cheap place, but just don't stay here...cigarette butts on the floor, scary people checking in, and noisy/scary people walking by your door all hours of the nite...i was so scared I blocked the door with a chair!!

Survived The Downfall...Staying for The Rise!

The flamingo opened in the 1950s, and somehow stayed in business since then. It is no five star hotel, just a simple family owned jersey shore hotel. Common balconies, small room, small bathroom, twin beds. Cleam, albiet a little run down. In close priximity to the beach, boardwalk, stone pony and paradise, as well as numerous other clubs. You might not want to stay in asbury park, maybe in ocean grove. Not a good spot for a vacation, but if your in town to see a show, it should do. Room had tv and air conditioning unit too. There is no pool, but that was okay, but that is okay, because at least we had a bath!

Horrible Place, Do Not Stay Here!

Do not waste your time. I made reservations to stay at the flamingo over a month before we were going there. I even called a couple days before our trip to confirm the reservation. When we arrived they had "lost" all records of my reservation (including my credit card information which I had given to reserve the room) and we were stranded in ac! Finally they said they could give us a room, for three times what I reserved it for! The best part was that there was another family in the lobby who was going through the same horrific experience, apparently this is common practice there!
