Don't waste your hard earned money! The airconditioners never work properly, no remote control for the tv, and security is lacking.

The Worst Hotel..
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
I don't know where to begin...we were there for only one night paid 170.00 (saturday) and as soon as we saw the room wanted to leave...it smelled so bad that I had to go and buy some febreeze., the carpet had holes and was so dirty I refused to allow my children to walk without shoes. It had a big closet that when we open the door the smell of urine overwhelmed you, the tv had no remote control, when I complained that the room smelled like cigarrette the owner looked at me and yelled that it was a motel not a hotel....the only reason that we did not leave was that every hotel and motel in the area had no vacancy. My advise to anybody that wants to stay in atlantic city is to avoid this hell hole.....

Never!! Go To The El Greco!
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

El greco is a bad experience. From the moment I walekd into the room the smell of cheap air freshener just hit my face. Geez it was nasty. Because of the no vacancy everywhere else on the boardwalk, we had to stay here. In this run down motel full of the worst possible elements one only watches in a short 30 min. Episode of cops. Now to the fun parts of this horrific experience. The carpet was disgusting. Cig burns, dust, dirt, and who knows what else. The bathroom was presumably the cleanest part of the room until one looked up to see the filth and grime of defunct air vent. I was scared to take my shoes off before hopping in the shower but one must do what they have to do. The pillowcases and bedsheet were clean. But we ripped off the covers and refused to sleep without being fully fully clothed. The lamps were heavy with a layer of one inch dust and everything that was once white was now a tint of cigarette yellow. The best part was there was blood spatter on the bed's box spring. I must highly agree with what other people have said before. El greco is just bad. Sleep in the lobbies of the casino/hotels if everything is sold out! Sleep in your car! Just never ever go to el greco!

Atlantic City: El Greco Motel: Good Experience, Good Location, Clean

Our experience has been good after repeated stays. It is very close to the beach in a good neighborhood with views of the boardwalk and next to casinos. Service is preditable and the rooms are clean. The staff is usually attentive and helpful.

A Wonderful Stay!

My stay at the el greco was very pleasant. It was a busy saturday night and the el greco was able to accommodate me at a reasonable rate. I have stayed at other motels in ac in the past and the el greco is the best motel I have stayed in. When I first walked in the lobby, I was greeted by a very courteous desk clerk. All of the employees were very friendly. The el greco is located in a clean, safe part of ac and is very accessible to the beach and casinos. The rooms were very clean. When I go to ac in the future and I will only stay at the el greco. Overall, I highly recommend this motel.

This place was something out of a horror movie! Sheets were dirty. Bathroom was unuseable. My wife and I opened the door and promptly went back to the desk to get our money back. Don't waste your time.

Its O.K.

This is a motel not a hotel. Location is good, parking is fairly poor, they have about 1 spot per room, if you want room service, and a mini bar, the hilton is across the street. The rooms were clean. The beds were clean. Their air conditioners kind of ----. If you are looking for a roof, a bed, and a shower, then I would recomend this hotel. If you want a 5 star place, then go to a 5 star place. The el greco is an ok place.

Disgusting
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

It was terrible. It stank of mold and mildew and god knows what else some people slept in chairs outside their rooms. Don't waste your money. Everything in the place was dirty except the owner's mercedes, which, at the price-gauging cost of 238$/night, he could afford to keep clean.

Didn'T Have Five Star Hotel Money Look Where I Had To Stay!!!

I wanted to take my kids to atlantic city but just could not afford the bigger hotels. I payed 428.00 dollars for two nights at the el greco, and the kids joked and said that we just should have slept on the board walk benches, if we could have I would have, it would have been better accomadations.

Will Not Visit Again!
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

The hotel is located in a convenient location off the boardwalk. The most frustration was that most of the amenities listed are not available!! No alarm clock, the cable was horrible, no kitchette or refridgerator. The ac was barely working, it looked like the spreads have never been cleaned! No double lock on the door or a peep hole to see anyone approaching. You are only allowed to fill your ice bucket twice. There is a room they call the "recreation room" with a small pool table and very old vending machines. Not many parking spaces left to park. Next time I will stay at one of the casino's!!!! Pay the extra money and stay somewhere else!!!!!!

I Liked It!

The el grego is a motel. Lets say that again it's a motel. The staff had a smile, the rooms were used but ok, the location was good, the price was fair. This is not a top of the line hotel. But it had a certain charm, ok bed and was very safe. It's only a block and short half from the boardwalk. It is right next to the hilton. Parking was small. And yes the owner washes his car every saturday. Will stay again.

Typical Shore Hotel
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Our family stayed at the el grecd hotel in aug. Of 2005. We were happy with the hotel. It is located a half block from the beach and board walk. It was a little on the old side, but it was clean. The staff was nice and friendly and there was enough parking provided. This is a typical shore hotel, not fancy, but a good location clean with friendly staff. I would stay there again.

$20.00 Cancellation Fee
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
I reserved 1 room via orbitz where the cancellation policy states "cancel 2 days prior to arrival date to avoid penalty of 1 nights room charge." well, I called the motel directly to cancel (4 days prior to reservation date) and they told me they will be charging me $20.00 to cancel the reservation. Ridiculous... Needless to say, i'll never be staying at this motel in the future.

Great Location Ok Room But A Lot of Fun
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
I was there for a bachelor party. We reserved 2 rooms on orbitz we called the motel to request that the two room were next to each other. The man who answered said he could not guarantee that. Sure enough when we arrived our rooms were on either side of a family with 2 little children. However when we got there the guy at the desk said he was sorry and that we can hang out on the balcony all night drinking if we wanted which we did and that worked out fine.

Absolutely Hated The El Greco Motel
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
Whatever you do, never, ever stay at this motel!!!!! Made the mistake of booking online with no pictures of the rooms available. No matter where you go (hotels, expedia, etc...), you can find no actual pictures of the rooms. I wonder why? Arrived on a saturday morning. Room was absolutely filthy. Dust and dirt everywhere and on every surface. Mold growing in every corner of the bathroom. Thank god we travel with shower flip flops. Closet stank so bad, we left our clothes in the suitcase. Had to go out and buy febreeze to spray carpet and let it air out before we could even stomach staying in the room for a long period of time. After that, had to use car vac to vacuum carpet - it was entirely too scary to walk on otherwise - even with shoes. Bedspread was absolutely hideous. Appeared and smelled like it had not been washed in months. Took it off and just slept on the sheets which appeared clean - but held the smell of the bedspread. Have to febreeze them too. If you're coming to atlantic city, nj, spend the extra $100.00 and stay someplace where you won't run the risk of a "contact infection" - which would be quite possible given the lack of cleanliness in this establishment. Completely grossed out. If i had a pet cochroach, i wouldn't let him stay at the el greco. Not a prima donna by any means, but when you're paying in excess of $100.00 per night to lay your head somewhere you have the expectation of it at least being clean!!! So much for an impromptu weekend trip. Planning to do this again next month. Will stay at the tropicana, sheraton or hilton.

Decent Price...Close To Beach and Boardwalk!

My husband and I chaperoned 6 teenagers to atlantic city and stayed at el greco to keep the cost down. The building is an older building but we found that the rooms were clean and it was a real plus being so close to the beach and boardwalk. We would stay there again.

Old Place Good Price for Last Minute
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
Just got back from a holiday weekend in horribly expensive atlantic city. Decided on last minute trip. Dumb. Anyways, el greco was a good deal considering the other "dumps" wanted $289 for sat. Nite. Stopped at the econo lodge down the street 1st and it stank. It was little india. They wanted $150 for fri. And $289 for sat. Same with the other indian owned motel. The man at the el greco was nice and wasn't a price gouger like the others. El greco charged $158 per nite. It wasn't the nicest place, i.e. Motel, it was old but clean. Didn't see cockroaches and we are not itching from bedbugs. So it was luck. Besides we were hardly in the room anyways.

Impressed By Little Motel
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
My friend and I decided to get away for a weekend & didn't want to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a hotel room that we were only going to sleep in. I booked online and we stayed for two nights (fri & sat). I have to say I was impressed, considering the inexpensive price we paid, at how clean and modern the room was. Yeah, the comforter/sheet sets may look like something out of the 70's, but bring your own bedding if you want style. We did have a refrigerator in our room that didn't seem to work, but we weren't planning on using it anyway. It is in close proximity to the beach and the tropicana, which was very convenient for us. I would stay at this motel again.

Looks Nothing Like The Pics
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

This was the absolute cheapest we could find for the weekend- it was 130/night off of priceline the closest to this was econolodge for like 189 and holiday inn was up around 200 a night. We were there for a convention not to party - so we wanted to keep costs down. The hotel has the bare min. No mold in the shower, low pile carpet, no frig. Tv worked- but not remote, comforters were gross- sheets were clean, it's you typical run-down motel, but the people employed there do a good job cleaning and upkeeping for what they have to work with. The grossest part- was the lobby and the game room- it looked like they haven't updated not a single damn thing since 1968- it will give you a good laugh when you see it though-i guess they are going for the vintage look- good luck!

Avoid This Place!!!!!

I booked this property online through orbitz. I subsequently had a change of plans and cancelled the reservation. El greco motel charged my credit card with 2 charges even though the cancellation was well in advance of the "48 hours prior to arrival" policy.
