Overpriced for A Staurday Night Stay!!!
By Anonymous on Friday, June 16, 2006

Visitor Review
Very "basic" hotel, nothing fancy or elaborate. Prices are so overpriced if your planning a saturday night stay- over $300 for a room. The two person jacuzzi tub and the location of this hotel were the only good thing here. The staff was somewhat rude and not very knowledgeable. The room had an iron- but no ironing table( you can't use the iron without the table because it has a special plug that only plugs into the table- not a regular wall outlet), and there were numerous burn holes in the bedding. I would consider staying here again only for a rate of $100 or less- only because of it's decent location.

On the previous review, the only reason the price was so high... Was remember.. You were staying on a holiday weekend!! Labor day, so of course prices are high!!! We only paid 129 for sunday night and it was good... However,,, the continenetal breakfeast.. Sucks!!! It took my husband 1.2 hour to get to the belgium waffle line that you had to do yourself. There were people up there doing what they how no idea how to do. There was nothing but waffles and coffee. I think we should at least get bacon and eggs.

Great location in the center of the boardwalk price is great if you book on comfort inn .com $62.00 during the week, whirpool in every room. The breakfast is include in the room price not great but if you don't like it go on the boardwalk and pay somewhere else.

The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

I had stayed in the comfort inn for a single day (weekday) during the summer of 2003. The good: the price was good 60-70$ for a weekday room. The "whirlpool" tub was only ok, as I had went there to relax. The only problem with the tub was that it was soo loud I couldnt use the whirlpool function, so it was only a hot bath in a nice big tub.

Room looks clean but as you open the door you are overcome by the smell of cat urine. They say they don't allow pets but some one didn't listen or they need to change there cleanning supplies. Breakast is also very skimpy.

Quick, Convenient, Nice Breakfast

We booked this last minute for our first trip to atlantic city. We just wanted to be near the beach and have a comfortable place to stay for the night. For $147, we stayed in september for a single night in a room with a king sized bed and a huge jacuzzi tub in the bedroom. We got in around midnight and the service was excellent. Despite our late booking (online, mind you) we had no problem checking in.we woke up, sat in the big jacuzzi tub (how can you not?!?) And went downstairs for some breakfast. They had pastries, make-your-own-waffles, coffee, tea and orange juice.my only issue was the air conditioner, a bit musty. Other than that, I was happy. I would probably stay there again.

It Was Great!

We just spent two nights at the comfort inn hotel on south kentucky avenue in atlantic city. Check in was fast and the continental breakfast was good, (cereal, toast, waffles, pastries) enough to hold you over till lunch or early dinner. The room was very clean and the whirlpool tub was great. This was a spur of the moment trip and for a couple of nights the price was right ($213.00). I would stay here again!

Good Decision

I thought this was a great place! Granted, it is not an upscale luxury hotel, but it was clean, comfortable and quiet. The bed was very comfy and the room was good sized with a mini-fridge and microwave. The location was perfect (about a block from the boardwalk and very close to casinos) and we could see the ocean both from our bed and the giant jacuzzi tub located right next to the bed! This was definitely my favorite part of the room. We spent a ton of time in it and left very relaxed. The breakfast was your average continental, nothing too spectacular, but not terrible by any means and they had coffee available in the lobby 24 hours, which I thought was nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We were only in atlantic city for a night, but I spent a lot of time trying to figure out where to stay and i'm really glad we chose this hotel. It had everything we wanted and it only cost about 100 dollars. If we were to go back to atlantic city we would definitely stay here again.

It'Ll Do In A Pinch

Stayed here with a friend for one saturday night. Came to town for a concert and the few casinos with rooms available had exorbitant prices, so we ended up here. With my auto club discount it was $224 for two non-smoking queen beds. I arrived about 30 minutes before check-in time. Check-in was very slow, even though there were two people working behind the desk. When i got to the room the smell of marijuana assaulted me. Someone must have had quite a party the night before. I opened the window, turned on the fan, and even had the housekeeper come in and spray some air freshener, but to no avail. I called the front desk and they apologized and graciously switched me to another room, which they called an upgrade, because it had an ocean view as well as a microwave and mini-fridge. This hotel is just about a block from the boardwalk, but a sleazy block it is. I saw two people sleeping on the ground in a parking lot across the street, next to a no-tell motel. The second room was clean and fresh-smelling, but had seen better days. The mattresses were thin and the box springs of both beds had large, suspicious stains on them. The jacuzzi tub had cigarette burns all over it and this room was missing the clock radio that was in the first room. On the plus side, it was quiet. The continental breakfast was satisfactory, although the make your own waffle station needed supervision. There are plenty of vending machines in the lobby and they sell bottled alcohol behind the front desk. One thing I did find disturbing was that as part of their "security procedures" the hotel made a copy of my drivers license. I've stayed in plenty of hotels recently, including other comfort inns, and never had this occur. If I experience identity theft i know where to look, I guess. Overall, it served the purpose for one night, but I wouldn't stay there again. I'd suck it up and pay extra for the casinos, with better amenities and location and a sense of safety.

Great Location

I gave it above average due to the location. We just stayed 1 night over memorial day weekend for a show. It is less than a block from the boardwalk which was great! You make a right out of hotel, and it is right there. There is a dunkin donuts right at the start of the boardwalk on kentucky ave and loads and loads of places to eat. You won't starve.we had an ocean view room and two queen beds. Our whirlpool tub was located in the bathroom though, not in the room. Meaning to take a shower, you have to stand in the huge tub. If you want a balcony room, there is no view though I think a balcony room would be nice. I wasn't there for a view. The neighborhood was fine. I did not find it sleazy though I had stayed in west hollywood and that was sleazy. You are in atlantic city so it is a variety of ethnic backgrounds which I found fine. Our whirlpool did have rust on the sides, so if you are going for the whirlpool..it may not be for you. The mini fridge and microwave were fine. The beds were also comfortable, I had no problem sleeping.i would definitely stay here again for the location and can walk to all the casinos. Parking is free but tight. I suppose it depends when you get there for your spot. We had a spot right in front which was nice. The staff was friendly, we checked in no problems.

Drive there. The ugly: 2 weeks after staying at this hotel my credit card was fraudently charged aprox 150$, not by the hotel but a 'made up' named charged. Based on my credit use on this card I am 90% sure that someone at this hotel got my information and used my credit card. The moral. If you go here be careful!!!

It Was A Nice Experience

My boyfriend and myself stayed at the comfort inn in august 2004 for one night. The front desk employees are not the kindest, but check in was fast. The room was decent, the only thing that I found pretty amusing was that the shower/whirlpool was not located in the bathroom, it was located right in the bedroom (not even 2 feet from the bed.) The breakfast was good (waffles were a treat), they had a good variety considering it was a continental breakfast. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to save some money for the casinos.

Stayed here labor day weekend. Very close to boardwalk and all casinos and beach. I expected to be in a bad neighborhood but it really wasn't. All of ac is a little rough. Rooms were clean I got a king bed and the jacuzzi was in the bathroom so I guess it's different in every room. Breakfast was ok, danish, bagels, and make your own waffles. The only complaint I have is the ice machine is only in the lobby not on the different floors, so if you need to fill a cooler you have to keep running up and down the elevator instead of down the hall because there is a sign on the ice machine that says no coolers. Extra advice, we booked in february and got 69 dollars a night so book in advance to get a good rate.

Decent Room But, Bring Your Own Bed
By Anonymous on Tuesday, June 13, 2006

Visitor Review
We stayed at the Comfort Inn on Kentucky Ave in Oct. 2004 for one night only. The front desk staff was "chilly" but efficient. The property was well maintained despite being near a rough looking neighborhood, but then all of AC is a rough looking neighborhood so it's not a big deal. The room was clean and decent sized and the jacuzzi tub was very good. One reviewer said his was so loud he couldn't use it, but we didn't have one with that problem. We didn't try the free breakfast, there is a Dunkin Donuts right next door. The Boardwalk/Beach is very close and the Sands and Ballys are within easy walking distance. Others you will probably want to drive to because of the neighborhood but it's only $4 to park at Caesar's so no big deal. The only really bad part of our stay was the bed. It was king size in two dimensions but prison-style in the very important third dimension of thickness. It was a very thin, hard, slab. We did not sleep well on it, and the pillows were pretty bad. I don't see any other reviews mention the bed, so maybe it was just our room. If you check in and the bed sucks, ask for a different room and you'll be in good shape. We stayed a month earlier at the Tropicana and had a bad time. Considering the $100 difference in price between the Comfort Inn and the Trop and that the Comfort Inn was $100 better than the Trop it's an easy choice to never pay casino prices for a room in AC. Stay somewhere decent and cheap like the Comfort Inn and spend that other $100 for yourself.
